Combined
Services do well under Army's "Skipper":
1.
As the winning coach, LTC Mike Stephenson, was the head coach for the
Combined Services team that participated in the ITTs held in Tampa,
FL, from 26 Nov to 3 Dec 2000.
2.
Ten army players were selected for this team: Nate Reel, Mose Timeteo,
Rob Schuster, Aaron Sane, Chris Wunsch, Chip Curtis, Mike Legg, Derek
Brown, Ropati Levi, and Ric Rivera (alternate).
3.
A well-coached and well-prepared Combined Services team took the Tier
II crown with a 20-18 squeaker over Southern California in the final.
They will move up to Tier I in 2001.
4.
Play in Tier II was extremely competitive this year, with the Combined
Services reaching the final by virtue of a 33-26 win over the
Northeast, while Southern Cal nipped the South 29-26 in the other
semifinal. The Northeast slipped by the South 13-10 in the battle for
7th place.
